Other notable achievements this season:
Nick Castellanos won his second straight AC batting title, but
the race was incredibly close. Nelson Cruz and Kevin Newman were
both within a single hit of catching him. Castellanos also cracked
an amazing 72 doubles, tied for 4th most ever in an IBL season.
Gerrit Cole captured the AC pitching Triple Crown, with a dominating
21-3, 2.46 ERA, 336 strikeout campaign. Zack Greinke matched him
with 21 wins.
Tim Locastro missed leading the AC in steals by one, but led it in
percentage, being caught only once in 39 attempts. Cavan Biggio was
even better in the NC, getting caught only once in 43 attempts.
Sam Dyson led the NL with 29 saves, but also added 6 more with MCM
to lead the IBL with a total of 35.
Steven Matz threw a perfect game in week 8 against NJR, winning 6-0.

Albert Pujols became the IBL's all-time hit leader in the final week,
passing Derek Jeter and finishing the season with 3254 hits. He also
became the IBL's all time leader in at-bats and became the first player
with over 700 doubles.
Aroldis Chapman reached the Almanac's admittedly arbitrary minimum 600
inning cutoff and is now considered the IBL's all-time ERA leader at 2.34.
Justin Verlander reached the 200 win, 3000 inning, and 3000 strikeout
milestones and won 20+ games for the fifth time.
