[IBL] 3 memorable games in NC champship at SKY

Sky come home after splitting 2 games with NYK.

Game 3 Snell is upset about how things went in New York.  SKY security
check all bags for whistles and camera on snells behalf.

1st inning Turner leads off with a single, fans are think oh boy here
we go again.  Casali hits into a double play and choo K to end the
first.

bottom of first:  cervell grounds out, chapman singles, conforto field
choice.  then Aguilar hits a 450 ft bomb to rc.bour bb, piscotty
double and bour lumbers into 3rd.  Torres singles  bour home, didi
flies out.  SKY 3 NYK 0

then Snell goes on a tear.  get 15 batters in a row striking out 7.
in the mean time chapman hits a 2 run blast to rc to make it 5-0 in
second.

In the 7th NYK give snell his only threat of the night getting the
first two batters on via hb and single.  Choo hits into a double play
and martinez K. to end the threat.

in the 8th sky addes 2 more to make it 7-0.

Snell finish with a complete game win 7-0

Game 4.  NYK has a meeting in the morning on holland and taillon.
thinking the combo will pitch in game 4.  The meeting pays off

first 5 batters go single single, double, single single to get three
runs home, then NYK forgets how to run the bases.  Get a player thrown
out at home then caught stealing to end the inning.  NYK 3 SKY 0

Cervelli opens 1st with a single then chapman hits into a double play.
then conforto K to end inning.

NYK continues to pound the ball  to score 2 more on rbi double by
turner to score taylor and a rbi single by casali to score turner.

SKY final gets on the board in the 3rd by an rbi double by cervelli to
score span.

in the 4th NYK adds another with a hr by reynolds then the door open
when they score 4 in the 5th off of Minter with hr by choo, singles by
story, taylor grandel and turner and all after 2 outs. making it 10-1
NYK after 4.5

SKY comes to life and scores 3 in the 6th but way to late.  Then NYK
adds 1 in the 7th and 9 to finish the game off with a 12-4 win in
Kentucky

Note: Conforto 0-5 with 5 K (back to the cages he goes)

Series at 2-2





Game 5 Kluber vs Verlander

SKY was not nice to Verlander in New York, so he is looking for revenge.
1st Winker singles, turner hits into a dbl play, Choo hits a blast to
lc 475 feet into the cheap seats, and martinez K.

B1 : Verlander hit cervelli with pitch, looks like a possible brawl
brewing.  5 hb by NYK pitching in 5 games.  SKY getting tired of being
hit by pitch.  chapman doubles home cervelli to teach verlander for
hitting our catcher.  conforto continues woes with hf 8.  aguilar
singles home chapman, then Zimmerman DH this game goes deep to lc to
make it 4-1.  piscotty walks, torres singles, then Didi goes deep to
make it 7-1  in the 1st. span flies out, cervelli singles, chapman
walks, then conforto final gets a single and error to score Cervelli
to make it 8-1 in the first the aguilar flys out.

after 1 inning SKY 8-1  Verlander tweets he dislikes SKY   from the showers

NYK gets 2 on in second but don't score, SKY goes 1-2-3.

3rd winker k, turner K, then choo goes to warning track on deep fly
trying to make it back to back hr.  but 1 foot short.

bottom of the 3rd. Didi is hb, managers goes screaming at umpier
saying they are throwing at us.  Gets restricted to dugout rest of
game.  span grounds out moving did to 2nd cervelli fo and chapman
walks,   The conforto fly out .

Sky adds 1 in the 4th and 2 in fifth while pulling Kluber after only
14 BF to save he for a possible game 7.

In the 6th NYK scores 1 on a base loaded walk, but winker Ks to end inning.

NYK score 3 more in 9th but to little to late.

SKY wins game 5 11-5 to take a 3-2 game lead in series.
