As Sean explained to me last fall when he was thinking about it, it seems weird that players can have such a wide spread in the corner outfield positions in terms of arms and range ratings. Sure, it's possible that some players are much better at playing one corner versus the other, but it seems likely that over a large sample of data things smooth out.

I think that’s two separate matters: the “emergency moves due to injury” can be done independently of this, which is really more intended to complete the implementation “merge LF/RF ratings,” which I think is unwarranted at the moment without a vote on the underlying merger. I’d still ask for its withdrawal at the moment.

The problem I have is not with the logging itself. The problem I have is with this language:
In general, logged MIS games should follow the same guidelines as FTF play. Specifically, the home team is required to:
• announce all lineup changes (e.g. pinch-hitter) prior to rolling
• announce any non-default defensive alignments (e.g. infield in) prior to rolling
• announce any non-default offensive strategies (e.g. hit & run) prior to rolling
Failure to comply with these requirements is grounds for the visiting manager to request a replay, provided the omission was material to the outcome of a play.
While I actually do that anyway, it’s easy to miss one or two here and there. And, with the vagueness of some of the MISes that are used, I think making this into a *requirement* puts a tremendous strain on home managers in MIS games.
