Hey All,
SFP is looking to acquire an additional mid-late 2nd or early 3rd round
pick, or two. We are also still in need of 2b and LF. Interests are not
LIMITED to these, but they are our most pressing needs.
SFP Trade Block:
SFP#2 (24): This is pick 2-7 in this year's draft.
Ryan Mountcastle (26yo, 1b)
-My full time 1B with career 113 wrc+ and strong hard hit %s. With a weak
1B draft class, unlikely to move for picks but would be open to exploring
player swaps.
Jorge Soler (31yo, RF)
-Coming off a 36HR / .853OPS season in Miami and will likely be headed to a
more favorable park in free agency. Can play full time in RF.
Braxton Garrett (26yo, SP)
-Strong 2023 campaign of 2.9 WAR and a 1.15 WHIP and FIPs in line with
ERA. Firmly entrenched in the Miami rotation.
Frankie Montas [UC24] (30yo, SP)
-6 WAR over 2 previous seasons before missing (practically) all of 2023
with shoulder inflammation. Did pitch in the last game of the season to
probably prove health going into free agency. Easy UC rebound candidate.
Michael Soroka (26yo, SP)
-A far cry from the 1st rounder I drafted him as in 2019 when he backed it
up with an all-star campaign in MLB. He's effectively spent the last 3
years rehabbing from an achilles injury but (finally) projects to be
healthy going into the upcoming season, now for the White Sox, who should
have a long leash as a non-competitive team. Easy rebound candidate with
minimal usage to log (32IP).
Trevor Larnach (27yo, LF)
-Former top prospect (55FV on Fangraphs) who hasn't been able to see
consistent time yet in Minnesota (693PA over 3 years). Could need a change
of scenery or simply more a consistent stretch in the starting lineup.
POTENTIALLY SFP#1 (25): I've seen the downside of trading away a potential
Tier 0 #1 pick play out over the last few seasons, buttttttttttttttttt
would entertain dealing for star caliber talent.
Inquire within and maybe we can work out a deal before heading to draft
list season.
Thanks,
-Matt, SFP
