As we approach round two of the draft, NJR has decided to put a few players
on the trade block that may interest rebuilding teams or clubs looking
ahead to 2025.
*On the block:*
CHA Benintendi - Had a career-worst year at the plate in MLB 2023, but he's
only 29 and I think he bounces back and plays like a league-average LF for
the CHI Sox in 2024. A good fit if you have a hole in LF and are not
looking to contend in 2024, but think you will be in the playoff hunt in
2025/2026.
CIN Lodolo - This guy is dynamite when he's 100%. Leg injuries wrecked his
MLB 2023, but that means he won't need a lot of outings to get usage. I am
still very high on him despite the Reds signing a few starters this
offseason, so Lodolo will not come cheap. Send your best offer.
SEA Rojas - More valuable in IBL than in real-life. Full-time at 2B and 3B,
Rojas' defense was very good at 2B last year and may be in the mix for the
starting job there for Seattle next year. He's also dangerous on the
basepaths, was 12-for-12 in SB chances last season. He's tapped to get the
bulk of the playing time at 3B for NJR in 2024, but can include him in a
trade if we can get an offensive upgrade there.
2025 picks - I don't have much in the way of 2024 inventory, but I am open
to trading a pick or picks for next year
*Our needs:*
3B - Would like to upgrade offensively from our current plan of the
light-hitting Rojas and the corpse on LAA Rendon.
SS - I'm planning to roll with TEX Duran here primarily in 2024, but would
love to find another SS to give us the flexibility to move Duran around.
2024 picks - Our pick inventory is a little low, so it'd be nice to pick up
a selection in the 2nd-4th round range or picks late in the draft.
Inquire within,
NJR Mike
