Everyone draws their line somewhere, but it always takes 2/3 to agree in order to change the line. If there are good reasons to vote against any of these hypotheticals then they are unlikely to ever happen.
In this particular case LF/RF is unique in that the defensive data is already aggregated. This is done because otherwise you get nonsense like Mike Morse being playable as an average defender at one corner due to wacky splits despite generally being a terrible outfielder. Regulating starts at the two positions made sense when the ratings were based on the split data.
