[IBL] NCDS sdq and Sky

summary: Sky took a 3-0 lead then SDQ came storming back to win 2 in a
row to send the series back to kentucky.  Sky wins game 6 and the
series.

G1 in Kentucky
Cool evening in Kentucky to see Quake vs Hilltoppers.  The Quake sends
Lynn to the mound as SKY sends Kim to the mound.

Playoff gitters get Kim in the first three innings as the Quake scores
3 in the first three innings.  Lynn for the Quake is very shaky as
well in the first 3 innings giving up 5 runs.  Kim settles down for
SKY and the relievers close the door, not allowing another run in the
game as the Hilltoppers add 2 insurance runs late.  SKY 7 SDQ 3

Warm afternoon with the threat of rain and the wind blowing in.
Pitching matchup is Lamet vs Anderson

Anderson surrenders a run in the first then shuts the door through 6
2/3 inning giving up only 4 hits. Lamet sailed through the first 2
innings going 1-2-3.  Then his controls left him, walking the 7 and 9
batters.  France comes up with an RBI single and then Conforto comes
up with a 2 RBI double.  That is all Sky gets until the 8th inning
when they get a RBI single from Kepler who was 1-2 with 2 walks in the
game.  After Anderson leaves, Barlow starts the 7th with giving up 3
hits with one of them being a HR.  Kolarek comes in and shuts down the
threat.  In the ninth, SDQ give SKY a scare with two deep Fly outs to
end the game. Final SKY 4 SDQ 2

now we travel to California for games 3, 4, 5

Its a warm evening in California with cloudy skies and no wind.
Mahle is staring for SKY and Davies is starting for the Quake

France for the Hilltoppers leads off with a HR to left center to start
the game. SDQ goes in order in the bottom on the first. the 2nd inning
shows fireworks as pitchers settle in.  Quake strikes for a run in the
3rd.  Duvall walks, Hosmer is hit with a pitch after 2 outs, Bregman
singles home Duvall.  Knapp ends the inning with a K. Sky gets the run
right back in top of 4th.  Gregorius triples to score tellez for his
first triple of the year.  Both of the 4th sees Quake tie the game
with an unearned run.  rojas doubles, chapman has a error allowing
rojas to 3rd.  Schoop grounds out as rojas scores.  Sky strikes for 3
in the 6th when turns out to be the winning runs.  Conforto lines out,
then d'Arnaud and Tellez both singles.  Gregorius has his 2nd triple
of the game and year scoring both d'arnaud and Tellez.  Profar hits a
fly ball to rf to score didi.  Quake answers with one in the bottom of
the 6th with singles by knapp, rojas and schoop and schoop get 2 RBi
of game.  Then the Sky relieves shut the door on Quake.

Sky leads series 3  games to 0

G4

Cool even in california with Sky sending Kim to the mound and Quake
sending Lynn.

Quake offence explodes for 13 runs while Lynn hold sky offense to 4 runs.

Sky does not get a hit until the 3rd inning.  Quake strikes in the
first with 2 runs.  Marte singles and scores on Rojas doulbe.  Hosmer
doubles to score Rojas.

2nd inning quake strikes for 3 more and runs Kim out of California.
Cabrear singles, Marte get on base with a 2b error by Chapman and
Cabrera scores 3rd error in the series.  Rojas is Intentional walk.
Bregman doubles to score Marte and Rojas.

Sky Answers with 1 run in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th to make it 5-3 SDQ.
But SDQ scores 3 in the 4th to shut the door off of Snell and Barlow.
Snell walks Marte and Bregman then surrenders a single to Hosmer to
start the scoring, Barlow comes in and give up a run off of Ramos
single and then SDQ scores again off of Tapia  fielders choice.

SDQ keeps adding runs.  Score another in the 5th off Crichton.  double
by Cabrera  and then single by Rojas to score cabrera.  Sky closes it
bullpen with Torres and Frazier who do better than the other pitchers
only giving up 4 runs in 4 inning of work.

The game features Anderson vs Lamet

This was a pitching dual the hole game except for 3 mistake pitches.

Anderson give up the first mistake which cost SKY the game.  In the
third inning after retiring 7 in a row the short rest catches up to
Anderson.  single by Schoop, the a single by Duvall because Profar
loses the ball in the sky, then a hit batter of Marte.  Rojas strikes
out, then Hosmer hits a grandslam to give SDQ the lead 4-0.

Lamet and means is leaving baserunners all over the place as SKY can
not get a key hit.  leaves 6 on in first 4 innings.  In the 5th Means
make a few mistakes pitches and get away with 2 of the 4.  France send
one to the warning track.  The conforto blasts one out to lf, and
d'arnaud followes with another hr to lf.  Tellez flys out the
Gregorius hits another to warning track to end inning.

Score now is 4-2 SDQ.

Sky does not threaten again as Rodriguez and Rameriz slams the door shut.

We had back to Kentucky for game 6

Game 6

cool, clear no winds for games six which features Davies for the Quake
and Mahle for the Hilltoppers

SDQ strikes in the first with a single by knapp to score Rojas.  SkY
answers with 2 in the first.  Single by conforto and double by
d'Arnaud to score conforto.  Gregorius singles to score d'Arnaud.

Sky scores again in 3rd.  double by tellez and RBI single by Profar.
SDQ goes quite until the 8th  when Bregman doubles and fuentas singles
to score Bregman off of Rainey.  Sky answers with a 2 run blast by
Chapman after kepler doubles.  SDQ Duvall homers off of Kolarek to get
within 2 but Kolarek shuts the door for the same.


MVP is Profar with 8  hits 1 hr, 7 rbi's
