Hello friends,
With 4 of our 11 weeks done (how weird is it to say that) I am on to the “try and fix what ails the team” phase of the season.
We are not playoff contenders so I am thinking about what the next Madness team that will make the playoffs is going to look like. So I have some needs and some stuff I could move. I am not sure that 2022 will be a playoff year so I am thinking long-term.
DET Cabrera’s quest for 3000 IBL hits (just 97 away!) means he has a spot until he reaches it and then will get the Pujols treatment.
PHI Hoskins (825 OPS) is likely the odd man out so he is available — good power from a position that demands it. Needs 7 PA per series to keep him.
Ideally I would like to move BOS Bradley for his doppelgänger — guy who plays CF with a crappy card but good MLB2021 numbers. Bradley also needs 7 PA per series to keep
The big one is TEX Kiner-Falefa — top 5 SS with a good IBL card. Won’t be cheap but willing to talk about him. Needs 8 PA series to keep.
So what do I need?
* picks in the first 4 rounds
My experience has been solid contributors to my teams have been found here.
* rebuild starting pitching
It’s a mess. Nobody is doing well in MLB except 78yo Zack Greinke. Maeda is old. Corbin appears to have hugely regressed. So I would be interested in young pitching prospects or draft picks likely to be turned into pitching prospects.
* long-term non-1B infield solutions
Odor is a bust. Escobar is looking like 2019 was a peak year. Rosario is still being jerked around by Cleveland. Would a young player to develop and become part of the core for the next few years.
Email me if and let’s see if maybe there’s a fit.
