[IBL] AC Wild Card Series Game 5 Tonight

Tonight at 8pm Eastern will be the 5th and final game of the AC Wild Card series on IRC. It has been a hard fought series so far:

g1: BOW 4 MAD 0

The MAD offense can only manage 4 singles off TB Yarborough and BOW takes advantage of a mediocre start by HOU Greinke to take game 1. PHI Bruce hits a homer for the home team.

g2: MAD 6 BOW 5

Both teams get their bats going and the MAD bullpen survives 2nd and 3rd with 1 out three times in consecutive innings to hold on for the win. PHI Hoskins homers for the visitors to lead off the game.

g3: BOW 5 MAD 3

As the action shifts to Monrovia, both teams apply pressure, never quite applying a knockout punch as BOW capitalizes on a poor start from TB Richards and MAD doesn't have an extra-base hit until the 9th inning (MAD did not win a game all year where they did not have at least 2 extra-base hits).

g4: MAD 25 BOW 8

Facing elimination, MAD obliterates BOW's pitching to set up a 5th and final game. This one was 9-0 after 4 innings, with ARI Ahmed being brought in to close out the final 3.1 innings. MAD lost CHN Caratini for the rest of the playoffs to injury when he fell into the visitor's dugout trying to make the catch on a foul ball in the top of the 1st.

Game 5 will have WAS Corbin on short rest facing a fully-rested TB Yarborough and both team's bullpens have almost everyone available for what is hopefully an exciting game.
