Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday break.

REALIGNMENT / OWNERSHIP
-----------------------
Last season the LAN franchise moved from the NC West to the AC West.
During the season, however, it fell into caretaker status. We have found a
potential new owner, Vinay Kumar, who will take over the draft and act as
co-caretaker with Sean. If all goes well, he can assume full ownership of
the team before too long. To facilitate the transition, we plan to move
LAN
back to the NC West, switching with EDG. If anyone has objections to this
move, please let me know. Any realignment must be agreed upon by two-thirds
of the league, so if there is significant opposition, we will hold a vote.

I have received a few inquiries about making team city and nickname
changes.
If you're one of those interested, let me know the details. Any changes
would take effect after the draft.

PLAYOFFS
--------
Congratulations to the New York Knights, this year's NC Champions.
They defeated the Baltimore Sand Crabs in a five game Division Series,
then the Southern Kentucky Hilltoppers in an exciting seven game
NC Championship Series.

The Hilltoppers made it to the NCCS by taking down the Wild Card winning
Southern New Hampshire Spectre in six games in their Division Series
matchup.

The Knights were down 3 games to 2 against the Hilltoppers in the NCCS,
but then their pitchers (Mike Foltynewicz, Walker Buehler, Josh Hader, and
Blake Treinen) combined to accomplish something incredible, throwing
back-to-back two-hit shutouts in games six and seven in Coors Field to
send New York to the IBL Championship Series.

They will face the winner of the AC Championship Series between the Motor
City Marauders and Philadelphia Phantasm.

The Marauders advanced by defeating the AC East champion New Jersey Riptide
in five games in the Division round.

The Phantasm swept the Wild Card series winning Portland Raptors to claim
the other spot.

Philadelphia is currently up 1-0 in the ACCS after outlasting Motor City
in an epic 17-inning 4-3 victory in game one.

Recaps and boxscores of each series are archived here:
