Hey Everyone,

NYK is reading the tea leaves, and has determined that this is simply not our year. We are therefore offering the following players, most of whom have excellent cards for this year. We are looking for picks (#1 picks will get a discount on package deals), and players with good '18 MLB stats, or potentially post-hype prospects:

Hitters:

Zimmerman: 1B 5/E; 134/177/265 | 132/166/254 | Ex/Ex
He put it all together last season. This is a playoff-altering card, so by himself he's a 2nd rounder.

Nava: LF 6/G/-2 (rf/1b); 115/220/146 | 149/226/199 | Pr/Fr
An on-base machine with no HG vs RHP and lots of hits, perfect #2 hitter (or #5 to get those 2-out RBI knocks). 3rd round value.

Jackson: CF 6/I/0, LF 6/F/0 (rf) | 157/230/248 | 138/192/199 | Fr/Fr
Perfect platoon partner with Nava. Also a 4 Baserunning. 3/4th round value

Mathis: C 3/F/-1/Av/0 | 77/126/132 | 78/99/115 | Pr/Pr
Defensive catcher that's playoff eligible (harder to find than you'd think!) 5th round value

Pitchers:

Duffy: LH SP; 84/104/110 | 108/138/147 | 15/17 DF | 111/77 HG
A #2/#3 type this season. MLB '18 has not gone as planned, but he's still young, and still talented. Clearly he's the kind of player that would get drafted in the early 2nd round if he were in the draft, so that's the price for him

With the relievers, my preference is to package them for a higher pick. Also open to using them as sweeteners with other players to go up a round:

Nicasio: RH RP; 68/80/86 | 66/97/97 | 0/11 DF | 12/38 HG | 174/115 SO

Swarzak: RH RP; 74/94/87 | 77/94/102 | 0/17 DF | 4/61 HG | 169/202 SO

Kahnle: RH RP; 120/144/132 | 72/98/86 | 0/4 DF | 51/30 HG | 200+ SO both ways

FreemanS.: LH RP; 73/114/82 | 83/146/93 | 0/0 DF | 91/80 HG | 124/106 SO

Morgan: LH RP; 89/116/158 | 111/146/208 | 62/93 DF | 7/56 HG | 211/128 SO

Nicasio, Sawarzak and Freeman are similar value (two-way LH relievers are rarer than two-way RH relievers), then Kahnle, then Morgan (who needs a bigger park; he was more of a speculative play based on his second half last year)

I'd package two of the top tier for a 2nd rounder, or package them and other players for late 1st round. Other configurations are possible; just ask!

Finally, due to surplus at certain positions, we *can* offer these players, but they will be more expensive:

Segura: SS 5/E | 164/195/220 | 161/180/220 | Fr/Fr | 3/9/2 R/S/J
He's going to be even better next year, currently hitting .330/.358/.470. More likely that either he or Story will be dealt in the offseason, but he has significant value for this season as well, so I'm willing to see if we can be blown away.

Kiermaier: CF 2/D/+1 | 120/155/178 | 130/161/211 | Av/Vg | 4/9/2 R/S/J
Chris Taylor qualifies in CF next season, so in theory we can deal him. Continues to be an excellent defender in '18, and should be back to hitting his .750 OPS once he gets settled back in.

Teoscar Hernandez: lf/cf/rf 4 for all, H/K/H | 82/89/259 | 101/135/297 | Ex/Ex | 50+ HR numbers both ways
Continues to show that his cup of coffee last year was no fluke, with an ISO of .247. Still only 25, he should provide above average offense in LF for quite a few years. Plus, we've barely used him this season, so although he's not playoff eligible he could provide great ph leverage during the season.

OK, let us know what you think! Please include nyk at ibl.org in your replies, to ensure that both Mike and I get your offers.

Thanks,

Noel & Mike
