[IBL] NCCS Game 1 ODM @ GTY

On a cold, cloudy, rainy day in Gettysburg, the Oaksterdam Bombers and
Gettysburg Generals met to duke it out in game one of the National
Conference Championship Series - and were promptly rained out.
They met again the next day in pleasantly cool but windy conditions for the
first game of what will be five games in five days. Jaime Garcia would
take the mound for Oaksterdam, facing the venerable CJ Wilson. The
offenses would turn out to be as cool as the fall Gettysburg evenings.
The scoring got started in the bottom of the first on a Odubel Herrera
single, an Evan Longoria infield hit, and a two-RBI double by Michael
Brantley. The score stayed 2-0 until the bottom of the 5th, when Brantley
again came through, this time with a surprising solo home run to right
center field off lefty Aroldis Chapman. The score wouldn't change again as
Oaksterdam used 8 pitchers in the game, and Gettysburg got a gem from CJ
Wilson, 1 out from Travis Wood, and a 4-out save from Fernando Rodriguez.
ODM threatened in the 1st with a two out double from Josh Donaldson, back
to back walks in the 4th, and back to back singles in the 8th, but each
time the Gettysburg pitching beared down and got out of the inning
unscathed.
