Does that then mean that if someone is not using their #1 that it then has the same vale as a #8 in 2016? Using that logic, that would mean that if MCM had no use for the 2nd pick in the draft (CHA Abreu), he should of just traded it for a late round pick the following year ... So would you trade Abreu for a late round pick?  That is the reasoning be used here, I simply used an extreme example.

A pick in any round has an inherent value equivalent to the level of player/prospect you are able to generally select in that round.  Because can individual does not need that pick does not automatically mean that pick suddenly has no value.

I can see the logic in the sense that "if I'm not going to use something might as well let someone else have it.". That is simply being generous, however in this league there is the concept of fair value and trades are loosely evaluated on the  fairness, or equality, of both sides of the deal.

I guess if everyone else think it is equal and fair, then I stand corrected ...
