Gettysburg, PA -

It took 13 innings on a cool, cloudy day in Gettysburg, but Chase Utley
responded to being placed in the number 7 spot of the batting order by
hitting for the cycle.

Utley started off his day by mashing a 2-run home run to right center in
the second inning. He then grounded out to second in the 4th before lining
a single to left field in the 6th. Batting with one out and nobody on in
the 8th, Utley tripled to right center; at that point, it appeared that he
might not get a shot at a double to complete the cycle. He came to bat
again in the 11th, but lined out to shortstop on an almost-mucked up play
by Escobar. Utley's next chance came in the 13th, with Desmond Jennings on
2nd base. Utley strode confidently to the plate with 2 outs, and promptly
knocked one off the right field wall, not only completing his cycle, but
also driving in the winning run.

Utley kept the hot bat the entire series, going 9-14 with 4 runs scored, 2
HR, and 4 RBI. Gettysburg's management quickly installed him as the new 2b
/ hitting coach.
