This gives so much hope to the Last Fan in the Stands for the Prairie Dogs.
Only 3 more years of being buried in the NC Central cellar (next to Jimmy Hoffa ...)

Subject: [IBL] Strange things in IBL...start hoarding water
All,
I have witnessed some fairly bizarre things in my 47 years. I've seen shooting stars, I've seen men walk out of a burning building unharmed, and I have see Rodrigo Lopez throw a complete game....on the road....and win. Swear to God! But what happened week 11 in the IBL makes the other events pale in comparison.
Now, as I am not one to highlight the misery of others, especially within the IBL, I start this tale stating first and foremost that Mike McFadden and the BOW team are top notch. The team is consistently good, Mike builds himself a good team and they sit 5 games over .500 (a peak that the Crabs can only hope to attain one day...in the far future...far, far future).
Our week 11 tilt didn't portend anything unusual. BOW was starting a trio of good pitchers (MIL Lohse, MIN Deduno and NYN Wheeler). Ok, so it wasn't Palmer, McNally and Dobson, but it's not chopped liver (I've actually started chopped liver...decent ERA but horrible WHIP). For the Crabs, not too formidable. CHN Arrieta, DET Sanchez and HOU Keuchel. OK, so Sanchez is good...but Arrieta? Keuchel? We're talking 2013 numbers. What was to follow, just doesn't make sense.
In the three game set, the Crabs scored (brace yourself)...32 runs. We had 42 hits. And this all with a middle game that was 3-2!! Arrieta was solid and threw 5 good innings and the pen gave up NOTHING. Sanchez fought hard in the 2nd game but only threw 7 innings. And Keuchel?! Complete game and nearly the shutout (3 runs in the 9th to spoil the shutout). But in 3 games, the relievers, the corp that gives "fireman" a bad name, a group of guys who've never met an inherited runner they didn't allow to score. They gave up ZERO runs in 3 games. And I threw Zach Britton! ZACH BRITTON PEOPLE!
But the oddities don't end there. Chris Parmelee who was recently working in a Home Depot hit 4 home runs (3 in 1 game) and a triple over the homestand. Starlin Castro stole a base!! And the scariest stat of all??? The Crabs played 3 games and had NO ERRORS!! That is not a misprint folks. Starlin "Hands of Stone" Castro didn't have an error! Manny "Two Left Hands" Machado didn't have an error! The rollbot blew a fuse.
But aside from these statistical anomalies. Aside from the bizarre behavior of the rollbot. The one thing that we take away from all of this Week 11 behavior....
THE CRABS AREN'T IN LAST PLACE IN THE AC WEST AND IT'S JUNE!!!!!!!
CRABS IN THIRD!
CRABS IN THIRD (sorry Nelson)
Don't get me wrong, the Crabs still suck. We're still on a 5 year losing streak. But WE'RE IN THIRD!!!!!!!
Crabs might have to look into opening up that right field bleacher section that we've been using as a homeless shelter. Fans are interested in the Crabs.
GET CRABS!!!!
Doug/BAL
And a hearty thank you to Mike/BOW and Nelson/PAD for being included in this email. Mike was nothing but a gentleman and good sport. I've been on the receiving end of numerous beatings and know that it's not fun and not easy. I give huge props to Mike and thank him.
