[IBL] MAD show power at SKY this weekend

Head lines: MAD sweeps SKY at home off of 3 yes 3 Grand Slams

Game 1

After the weak on the road at Baltimore and going 2-1, the Hilltoppers were filling pretty good about themselves come home to host Monrovia.  The first inning went smooth 1-2-3.  Then alonso got a single in the 2nd to score Laird.  Delgado walked gomes and boom, alvarez hits a grand slam to make it 5-0 MAD.  Sky adds one in the 3rd to make it 5-1, but in the 5th Cabrera hits a 2 run bomb off of delgado to make it 7-1.  Sky chipped away but could never over come the grand slam and loses 7-5.

Game 2.

Mad opens up the first with a single by altuve, then cabrera walks, lowrie gets an inf single.  saltalamaccia and grossman get fielder choice rbi to make the score 2-0 MAD.  Nothing happens until the 4th when span walks, gardner singles and move span to 3rd.  Gardner get thrown out stealing, then bautista singles home span.  Then in the 6th both teams scores a run, Mad of another HR by Gomes and Sky blows opportunity to take the lead in the bottom half.  hechavarria singles, span single hech to 3rd gardner singles, hech scores but span is thrown out at 3rd and gardner moves to second on throw.  Kendrick so, then bautista singles but Gardner is gun down at the plate. so after 6inning it is 3-2 mad.  then the wheels fall off the pitching.  in the 8th Alvarez hits his 2nd dinger of the series making it 4-2 off of Stauffer.  Then stauffer in the 9th walks cabrera, single by lowrie, and infield single by Laird.  then grilli comes in to save the score but, Alonso goes Boom and the 2nd grand slam for MAD of the series happen and the score ends up 8-3.

Game 3.

Sky jumps on top first with single by hech, df by span, gardner is hit by pitch, the kendrick singles home hech and gardner to 3rd.  then bautista grounds out bringing gardner home.  Sky leads 2-0.  but in the top of the second MAD ties the score with a sing by grossman, single by alonso and grossman goes to second.  Bay hits into a dp 163 and grossman to 3rd
alvarez and gomes walks and altuve single to drive in grossman and alvarez.  so now it is tied 2-2.  Then MAD adds a run in the 4th off of 3 singles in a row by alonso, bay and alvarez.  then the wheels fall off in the 5th.  lowrie singles, grossman walks, salt infield single and alonzo up to plate.  BOOM!!! his second grand slam of the series and 3rd of the series for MAD.  makes the score 8-2.  SKY can mustard one more run in the 6th off a Frazier Solo HR.  The final is 8-3.

Comment from manager of SKY.  After a great road trip i'm very disappointed in the pitching.  I believe we got to relax after winning 2 out 3 on the road and it showed by throwing the ball over the heart of the plate.  The pitchers know they have the keep the ball away to be successful.  I put the blame on myself for letting the team get to relax.  It will not happen again.
