As David said, individual playoff series deadlines should be set and enforced, rather than one deadline that encompasses all series and teams. If I'm playing in the divisional round and have a bye in the wild card round, and then am penalized down to a tier 3 draft position because the wild card teams had delays (which potentially could be no fault of their own, like say, a case of COVID or some other "act of God") I'm not going to be happy about it. We all know crap happens, but over the course of 2-3 weeks teams should be able to get their playoff series done. Yes, this depends/relies on the regular season to be finished, so maybe set harsher penalties for that too, but don't potentially penalize teams for which the timing of their series is potentially out of their control.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:trebuchet ms,sans-serif;font-size:small"><br></div><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div><font face="trebuchet ms, sans-serif">Thanks,</font></div><div dir="ltr"><font face="trebuchet ms, sans-serif"><br></font></div><div dir="ltr"><font face="trebuchet ms, sans-serif">Brent Cunningham</font><div><font face="trebuchet ms, sans-serif">Owner/Manager</font></div><div><font face="trebuchet ms, sans-serif">Gettysburg Generals Baseball Club</font></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div><br></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Wed, Mar 17, 2021 at 2:49 PM D <<a href="mailto:genny429@gmail.com">genny429@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr"><div>Hello all -</div><div><br></div><div>Happy St. Patrick's Day. Figuring out usage could be a little odd with unusual # of regular season games and lower PA/IP thresholds of carded players, and waiving the two-week inactivity requirement seems more helpful than expanding rosters to 28. In part because we are going to play fewer weeks, so a 2-week inactive requirement would seem to freeze reactivation for a larger % of the season than it normally does in a 27-week schedule. </div><div><br><b>2021-03) A</b></div><div><br></div><div>An earlier email suggested PA/BF thresholds would be waived for playoff eligibility/usage. Makes sense, and I assume that is happening given it was the underlying draft assumption. If so, I like keeping playoff roster at 26 as teams will have all of their carded players at their disposal and should be able to make a roster of 26 that works for the playoffs (maybe even easier than most years). </div><div><br></div><div>If PA/BF thresholds are not being waived for purposes of playoff eligibility/usage, I may be more inclined to support 28.</div><div><b><br>2021-04) B</b></div><div><br></div><div>I like the three-batter rule for MLB and IBL. For MLB, it is primarily a time-saving device I guess. In IBL, I'd prefer to reduce the one-batter streaming of RPs and give some ground back to offenses. It will also align a bit better with what should be the added value MLB teams place on relievers who can be successful against either side. I cannot identify all the implications for IBL player valuation and game play, but I'm inclined to support it.</div><div><b><br>2021-05) YES</b></div><div><br></div><div>Relaxing the release deadline and trading deadline sounds good.</div><div><br><b>2021-06) NO</b></div><div><br></div><div>I am strongly in favor of getting the playoffs done by mid-December.
