It was far from a stellar performance, as he surrendered 6 walks. Still, he made<br>
his pitches count when he needed to.<br>

Perhaps no pitch was more important then the one he threw to rookie Kris Bryant<br>
in the ninth. With one out, Santa Fe threatened to come back, with Brock Holt<br>
and Brad Miller on base. Bryant launched a monster shot into left field, but it<br>
came down just short of clearing the fence, landing in the glove of Michael<br>
Brantley. (Rollbot gave a 174, which was 1 short of the 175 needed for a tying<br>
3-run homer off Bryant's card.)<br>

Young then struck out pinch-hitter Franklin Gutierrez on three pitches to etch<br>
his name in the history books.<br>
