<div dir="ltr"><div>Here's the problem with that, though, in my opinion. I read it as replacing to mean having a "2nd player available at that position" by activating another player, "so long as that transaction allows the team to fulfill legal roster requirements". I did that by activating ARI Nieves (giving me 2 active catchers that are "healthy" per your answer to my question about DTD players), and deactivating MIA Marisnick (which still allows me to fulfill legal roster requirements as 4.1.1 states).</div>
<div> </div><div>4.1.1 itself says I'm not required to replace an injured player (Mauer), which I didn't want to do because of the short duration of his injury. Thus my (perhaps misguided) interpretation that it was OK to deactivate someone else and activate ARI Nieves.</div>

Sean, if I recall correctly, you said at one point in the past that a DTD player counts as "healthy" in that regard. If that's the case, then bringing up Nieves and having Montero DTD fulfills the "2 at each position" requirement.<br>

</div>Correct, a player who is DTD can be considered your "backup" at a position.<br>

</div>The first sentence specifically says: "A team may (but is not required to) replace an injured player...". "Replace" in the context of the active roster should be considered to be synonymous with "de-activate". Similar wording is used in 3.3.3. The word can be changed via edit, does anyone else think this is necessary?<br>
