get low on games played at a position, or total games, or plate<br>appearances, or innings. I don't like to declare forfeits when <br>players are used illegally, so monitor them carefully. <br><br>Make sure you update your MIS regularly. If you put a player in your <br>
MIS lineup at a position at which they are limited, don't forget and <br>leave him there!<br><br><br>PITCHERS HITTING<br>----------------<br>Since this issue arose this week, I'd like to clarify the rules for<br>
allowing pitchers to hit. <br>
<br>The Constitution states that the league uses the designated hitter,<br>and only position players may start at DH. So a pitcher may not<br>be in the starting lineup, even if he is pitching. <br><br>Pitchers may pinch hit if they had 50 or more AB in MLB the previous <br>
season. Their AB total appears on their card, so you can check the <br>card to see if they may pinch hit.<br><br>The DH must bat at least once before he can be removed, at which<br>point you may pinch hit for him with the current pitcher if he had <br>
the required 50 AB in MLB.<br><br>Pitchers are also allowed to hit if the DH moves to a position on<br>the field, in which case the pitcher must bat in the lineup position<br>of the player replaced in the field. <br><br>
