<div dir="ltr"><div>You know, I was thinking that the former Crab Tyler Colvin had the worst card in the set this year. But Uggla's......for a "regular/starter"....that's a cute card (if by cute I mean damn aggravating when it actually hits)! That card just SCREAMS Sand Crab! LOL (especially with a J- defense!).</div>
<div> </div><div>Hey, I had Colvin a year or two back where he was 0/0/0 vs LHP. And I PLAYED him vs lefties!!</div><div> </div><div>Man I can't wait to start this season! :)</div><div> </div><div>Doug/BAL</div></div>

First, a hearty thank you to Sean, and Chris, and Rusty and everyone else who works on getting the IBL up and going from October through March. For many of us who happen to live in the artic (i.e. Midwestern US this winter), the promise of spring and baseball kept the hope alive that weather will become warm and that all will return to normal. I love IBL preseason. The hope of a new year. The cards. The ritual. For me, it's a bit old fashioned, but it's what keeps me young (I print out the cards, cut them, sort them by team, then get my team out and laminate them, then sort the other IBL teams...it's tedious, but fun!). The picture here is what I love
most about the IBL. Everything is clean, and new, and the page is blank. There's a promise in the air that holds late inning comebacks and 6 game losing streaks. Of unmerciful rollbot results and improbable heroes. But for me, I get to be a 14 year old kid a couple hours a week and roll dice with my friends as I try to will my team to victory.</div>
<div><br clear="none"></div><div>And if any of the newbies want to run through a preseason game, please just email me and I'll do my best to oblige. I'm no expert at the grs or the irc, but that doesn't stop me from learning and playing and enjoying the fun that is IBL.</div>
<div><br clear="none"></div><div>Good luck to everyone this year. A heartfelt welcome and thank you to the new owners (without whom, the IBL doesn't exist). A shout out to the old timers to whom I look to for advice and condolence (from time to time). Even those who think that my talent evaluations are just south of a blind man at a beauty pageant :). I'm just glad that I discovered this wonderful hobby 4 short years ago.</div>
