Yeah, in the case where TRI is tied with the division winners then there has to be a playoff for the division. Then the losers of that playoff have a playoff with TRI for the wild card.  Shouldn't have tried to figure this out so late last night...  ugh. 

so in the 4-way tie plus TRI at 88 wins there would be a 4-way playoff for the AC West division followed by a 4-way playoff (losers + TRI) for the WC

in the 3-way tie plus TRI at 89 wins there would be a 3-way playoff for the AC West division followed by a 3-way playoff (losers + TRI) for the WC

all those scenarios require 4 additional days of regular season playoff games, not counting the potential TRI/NJR makeup game which if necessary could make it 5
