All,

It's been asked why, after just 5 weeks, I'm giving up on the season. The
last 3 weeks have utterly demoralized me. Going 4-14, having been
outscored 100-44, and having scored 2 or fewer runs in more than half the
18 games. A rough patch? Sure. But it's a 4 year old rough patch with no
end in sight. So, maybe next year, right? Or the one after that.....or
2017 is looking promising....

OK, progress on the players....

Hochevar seems to be hot amongst you owners. Several 3rd round picks being
offered. A 4th and a prospect would also suffice.

Valencia has suitors. Right now, a couple of 4th round offers.

Sanchez. Yes, everyone wants Sanchez. I'm fairly confident that I will
pass him on to one of you guys by the end of the year. But, it's been
intimated that if I don't get a 1st for him, that the trade could be held
up in court. Gee, like that's never happened with me before. <=sarcasm!

I'm surprised nobody's looking at Perez yet. A lefty with a very tough
card. Granted, a #2 is probably a bit high for him. A #3 or equivalent
would work. Or a prospect who can identify the difference between a
hardball and a first baseman's glove.

And a name I'd be willing to discuss, if only because he's never going to
achieve what he should and will never have a fielding rating below F and
that's Starlin Castro. He's been a Crab forever and I have to stick him in
the lineup almost every day. If being a Sand Crab isn't bad enough, having
to write his name into the lineup every day for the past umpteen weeks has
been near suicide.

So, I'll be hashing out the offers. I'll be getting back to you guys who
are asking for players. And I'm sure we can get some of these fine players
on real teams in short order.

Doug/BAL

So when do we submit our proxy picks for the 2015 free agent draft?
